She had asked this question for the last nineteen years searching for her son Johnny, one of the Lebanese detainees in the Syrian prisons. After the first few days of his disappearance in 1990, violet searched everywhere for her son. She searched in hospitals, forests, and all the other places your mind can imagine. Johnny was her youngest kid, who had decided to defend his country through joining the Lebanese army. But he was taken as a prisoner to Syria. Many times, mrs. Nassif went to Syria to see her child.
Few days ago, Mrs. Nassif underwent the DNA test. Her DNA matched with one of the two unknown bodies’ remainings that were found in a district near the Lebanese Department of Defence. Jhonny has became a martyr. Few days ago, his village received Johnny as a Hero who died defending his mother country.
Johnny’s destiny was revealed, but till when would we stay knowing anything about the other missing people whose families are camping in Jebran’s garden in Beirut? Till when would our politicians stay not doing anything to reveal news about them? The only question that we can ask is: Till When?
